Reasons Why People Want to Lighten Their Skin

Often there are several factors behind the reasoning for one wanting a lighter skin tone.

Some of the most common reasons that I hear and see often have psychological distress such as self insecurities, loss of confidence, embarrassment, anxiety, and sometimes even depression tied to them. I classify these folks in the skin condition and skin blemish category.

By far the most common reason for someone to lighten their skin is because of dark patches of skin aka sun or age spots, from too much exposure to UVA rays, hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne damage, dark underarms, or just a skin tone that has become uneven, these people suffer from a condition. There are many reasons that lead your skin to overproduce melanin, which darkens your pigmentation, and that is exactly what is happening in these specific areas where the condition is visible.

Here is a brief description of common skin conditions:

Age Spots- Also known as sun spots or liver spots, these are brown or red patches of skin that may vary in size and shape. The cause usually thought of as aging, but in most cases the real cause is due to over exposure to UVA rays without sun protection.

Age spots are most commonly found on the face, neck, and arms.

Hyperpigmentation - Can be caused by skin trauma and injuries, inflammation (which is referred to as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation), acne damages, and also the sun. This skin condition is also associated with numerous diseases such as Addisons disease, Cushing’s disease, and Mercury poisoning to name a few.

Hyperpigmentation is most common on the face, and is more common among those with a darker skin tone such as Asians and African Americans.

Melasma- This is a very common skin condition that produces patchy skin blemishes that range in color from brown, to bluish-grey, to tan.

Most common among women, Melasma is normally found on the upper cheeks, upper lip, and forehead. Melasma’s causes are sun exposure, and hormonal changes that are often brought on by the use of birth control or pregnancy. b

Do any of these sound familiar?? If so, keep reading …

However, those looking for a lighter skin tone do not always have a skin condition. There are those who want to lighten their overall skin tone across their entire body.

These people want to achieve a certain tone across their entire body that will make their skin tone more vibrant and really glow, making them look and feel more beautiful, or in some cultures more acceptable.

The good news is ….

There are natural solutions for both, those who want to get rid of dark spots and get their even skin tone back as well as those who want to simply lighten their entire body. However it is important that you categorize yourself before choosing a specific plan of action to take, because the two solutions and techniques are going to be quite different.

Keep This In Mind …

Health and Safety

With many of the most common active ingredients found in chemical based skin bleaching products entering a period to where they have been around long enough for scientific studies to prove that they can be extremely dangerous in the long run, safety is the most important factor here.

These dangers do not just pertain to skin damage …

You need to realize that the chemicals present in these over the counter products are absorbed into your body through your skin, causing much more severe issues than just damage to your skin.

For example, Mercury can be found in many of the top bleaching products on the market today.

Studies have shown that Mercury can cause major health problems such as kidney complications, various cancers, neurological problems, and cause psychiatric disorders.

Another example is Hydroquinone, which is the single most common active ingredient found in skin bleaching products. Hydroquinone has been shown to be very harsh for your skin, is considered to be a carcinogenic that may encourage the growth of cancer cells, and in fact it has actually been recently banned for sale in the UK, EU, Japan, and Canada.

Some other common non-natural skin lightening treatments and the problems with them

Some of the options available include laser treatment. Laser treatment is expensive, can be uncomfortable for you, and cause side effects like bruising or crusting of your skin. If you have many freckles or dark spots to remove, then it will be a long term process and extremely expensive. how to lighten skin c

Cryosurgery is another expensive option but only of use for larger spots.

Liquid nitrogen is applied to your skin that will make the first layer peel off. There is more risk with this type of removal as it is difficult to control. Too long on the skin and it can be damaged permanently. This is another extremely expensive form of treatment with the side effect if the treatment is not accurate, permanent white spotting may occur.

But the reality of it all is that you do not need to put your body and overall health at risk in order to make your skin a lighter tone, or to even your skin tone. Lightening your skin naturally is going to be 100% completely risk free for your skin and your health, and the results when done correctly match those that use harmful chemicals.

Money and Cost

Many of you may already know that skin lightening creams, peels, laser treatments, and pills become extremely expensive to keep up with. Going through tube after tube of the next best solution chasing that miracle cream, and dermatologist visit after dermatologist visit really begin to add up quickly.

Wouldn’t you rather have all of that money to spend on a vacation???

Your Skin Condition Without Chemicals!

The absolute first thing that every single person I know who chooses to lighten their skin naturally notices, is how fresh and how much younger their skin feels, almost immediately!

After using chemical based skin whitening products, many complain that their skin felt very dry, itchy, and dead feeling, so to have this completely reversed once they begin using natural methods is a huge relief. So, even if you do choose to use over the counter products, it is ALWAYS a good idea to still use natural recipes and creams on your skin because of the nutrients that is absorbed … Leaving your skin fresh, rejuvenated, and young feeling.

Here is your dessert I promised …. before I forget!

Here is what others have to say:

“Over the years I have tried many different products and must have literally spent hundreds on undeliovered promises. I started using Meladerm from around mid August of this year -it has only been around 6 weeks but I am impressed enough with the results to let others know about it. I am part Asian and was lucky to have inherited my mother’s beautiful skin which I rather stupidly took for granted. I didn’t invest in sunscreen or a hat and before I knew it I had have very prominent sunspots on my forehead and cheekbones, around my eyes and across my top lip making me look as though I had a moustache! I use the spots on my cheek bones as a gauge and even though the spots are still present they have definitely faded. Myn’moustache’is all but gone. I’ve come to accept that there is still a bit more work needed especially on my forehead. I have invested in some mineral make up which allows me to build up coverage effectively and my overall facial appearance is brighter and lighter. My advice to anyone reading this would be to take the jumnp and get Meladerm. It is worth the money and livaes up to the hype. Help it along by wearing sunscreen and be patient! I have found my regime now – it’s shame it’s taken me to get to my forties to do so :) Good luck everyone and thank you Meladerm !”

- Kathy H.

“Meladerm has really given me back my confidence! I’ve been a user for about five months and my skin is almost completely cleared. I had so many black spots on my face and forehead and just overall it looked so much darker than my real skin tone. I used Meladerm and have been going for regular facials and the results have been tremendous that even the woman who did my facial was aksing what I use!! I would highly recommend that everyone try this product because it can really help you feel proud in your skin!”

- Tyra B.

“I have had lasers done to my face, hsd used expensive creams to remove the hyperpigmentaion on my face, but none of them seem to work. But after using Meladerm Cream (together with the exfoliating serum) for just 3 weeks, my skin tone gets lighter, and the pigmentation on my face is almost gone!! I am now ordering my second set of meladerm cream and exfoliating serum. :)

topThere are many people who are looking for natural age spot remedies. Generally thought of as being caused by aging, these spots often appear as a result of other causes, as well.

Also called “liver spots” or “sun spots”, they usually seem to appear in the case of people around the age of 55 or above.

While the spots themselves may not be dangerous, those who have them often find the problem to be quite debilitating, because very few remedies are known to cure age spots permanently.

Also, a lot of additional problems can appear, most of them of a psychological nature.

Many people, for instance, end up suffering from anxiety, depression or low self esteem, and find it very difficult to build up enough confidence in order to show themselves in public because of this.

Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation For those of you who just asked “what the heck is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation”, let me first clear that up for you. Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the discoloration of your skin after an inflammatory wound has healed.

The color usually varies from pinkish to brown, and is most commonly present after your skin has been inflamed, say from a acne, a wound, or rash. This triggers your skin to produce an excessive amount of melanin, which is the underlying factor in determining the color of your skin.

So, effectively, what has happened is that in the areas where your skin is uneven or darker, your body has produced too much melanin in that specific area.

The conventional skincare industry is

poisoning millions of people and most people don’t even know it…

I’m willing to bet most of us go to the store and pick out our skin and beauty care products without reading the label.

Or if we checked the label, we were curious about what the ingredients were…But we just shrug it off and drop it in the cart anyway. We trust that it must be safe if they sell it!  Because the ingredients must be regulated by someone right?

Not right. According to the Department of Health and Human Resources,

When I was learning how to lighten my skin, I kept coming across the term “Kojic Acid”, and had no clue what it was. All i knew is that the word acid scared me and seemed harmful, so i just wanted to clear up for you what Kojic acid is quick…

What is Kojic Acid?

Kojic Acid is a natural product that was discovered in a certain species of mushroom in Japan in 1989. Studies have found Kojic acid in other fungi and natural foods such as soy, rice, and it is a by product of the fermentation process of malting rice for Japanese rice wine.
